The kulturhuset which is located near Sergels torg is a hub for cultural activities.It was built on October 14 1974. This building houses a galleries,a library a restaurant and cafs, namely caf Access and Cafe Panorama. Regarding literature interviews are held with visiting renowned writers on the international writers stage at the caf Panorama.
Within this building is a library with literature and magazines on the arts including fiction
fashion and design .It is also possible to see films ,theatre and dance performances here.
The building overlooks the heart of Stockholm and gives the tourist a birds eye view
of the city.
There are computers available for surfing in order to keeping abreast with the news around the world as well as finding out which programmes are on offer at the Stadstheatre (www.stadsteatern.stockholm.se) or the dance house. Furthemore, theatre goers can buy tickets here for performances at the stadstheatre.
Just around corner away from this cultural centre is Stockholm's tunnelbanna ,the underground train station. In addition , there are several shops where one can do all theshopping .
Lava is a meeting point for young people and arena for youth culture from all over
the country.
Other places of interest are the children's room, design centre, restaurant Barcelona, a theatre bar, Stockholm's terrace for activities in the summer ,middle age museum and the world news cafe
Within the building there is a feeling of coming in contact with Swedish and world
culture in one place.
Of course a visit to stockholm would be incomplete with a visit to Sverigehuset or Stockholm Tourist centre(http://www.stockholminfo.se/).This centre provides up to date information on tourist attractions all over the country.
